The artist's words

“Les enfants de mon quartier” (“The children of my neighbourhood”) finds its inspiration in the fervour of the Africa Cup of Nations held in Côte d’Ivoire. The artist wanted to pay tribute to the passion for football that unites young people and brings neighbourhoods together. We see children absorbed in a table-football match, a symbol of innocence, dreams and unity. Through the orange jersey and the name “Drogba”, the artist evokes national pride and the heroes who inspire an entire generation. The neighbourhood setting, between modesty and vitality, reflects Ivorian urban reality. The colourful walls, the local shop signs and the electric wires convey the lively daily life of African cities. Through this simple yet powerful scene, the artist shows that play becomes a space of freedom and hope, where the children of his neighbourhood reinvent the world in their own image.
